A competitive group of riders entered the Indiana Farmers Coliseum at the Indiana State fairgrounds on Saturday, September 12th at the All American Horse Classic in Indianapolis, Ind., all vying for a 2020 United Professional Horsemen's Association Pleasure Challenge Cup Finals National Champion title. These riders competed in two groups, from which two national champions were crowned: Senior and Junior.
The Junior and Senior age groups performed rail work and a pattern in the Phase I preliminary stage on Saturday morning.
The finalists in the Junior division competed in their Phase II that afternoon, after which the Junior champion was crowned, while the Senior riders' Phase II was held during the evening session, after which time the Senior champion was crowned.
Karlyn Connolly from Mt. Vernon, Iowa, was named the UPHA Pleasure Challenge Cup Senior National Champion. Connolly rode Undulata's Power Broker to top honors under the instruction of Milestone Stables.
The reserve champion in the senior division was Emily Egner of Hinesville, Ga., riding Writer's Block. Egner is instructed by Sarah Russell.
Remaining Top Ten:
Ava Bertagnolli from Rice's Landing, Penn., was named the UPHA Pleasure Challenge Cup Junior National Champion. Bertagnolli rode Cinnabar Star to top honors under the instruction of her mother, Jodi Bertagnolli and Heritage Stables.
The reserve champion in the junior division was Sydney Ladine of Carmel, Ind., riding CH Stonecroft I'm Radiant. Ladine is instructed by Select Show Horses.
