At the annual meeting of the SEHA, the board of directors and members voted to implement an incentive program to give cash awards to members showing their ponies at selected shows in the region.
Members in good standing who have nominated their ponies can win prize money over and above the money paid by the horse shows. The first horse show with the incentive is the ASAC spring show, which is just a few weeks away. Full program details, membership forms and nomination forms can be found on the SEHA website at sehackney.com.
This program is in addition to the futurity program. SEHA continues to offer an open futurity with classes ranging from weanlings in hand to a 4/5-year-old set of performance classes. The futurity will be moving to earlier dates and a new location this year. It is planned to be held at the ETSA Midsummer Horse Show in Morristown, Tennessee. Nomination forms can be found on the website.
