The 32nd Annual Wisconsin Limited Breeders Stallion Service Auction will be held Sunday, January 8, 2017 at the Thunder Bay Restaurant in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The event begins at 11 a.m. with a buffet brunch followed by the annual meeting at 12:30 p.m. The live stallion service auction will begin at 1 p.m., featuring most of the country's top producing stallions. Weanlings sired by the sold stallions will compete in 2018 at the Wisconsin Futurity Horse Festival.
Stallion donors have the opportunity to declare an additional mare by their stallion. To qualify, the stallion must have sold during the auction, and the mare declaration made by December 1 with $500 payment. Prize money is paid to 10 places.
The Dr. Rick Luft Limited Breeders Weanling Stake of Wisconsin was the first American Saddlebred payout program of its kind in the nation. More than $2 million in prize money has been awarded to weanling and stallion owners.
