Dorothy Ann (Dillan) Raun passed peacefully on February 8, 2018. She was surrounded by the love of her family.
“Dotty” was born September 3, 1926, in Brainerd, Minnesota, to Johan Alfred Dillan and Dorothy Grace (Crossman) Dillan. She graduated from Proctor High School in 1944, and traveled by train to Iowa State College, where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Home Economics Education and her "MRS" with the love of her life.
Alan R. Raun and Dotty married July 30, 1949. After Alan received his Doctor of Veterniary Medicine in 1951, they moved to Ottumwa, Iowa, and started what became a family of six children. In 1961, they moved to Norwalk.
Dotty was a member of so many groups including Delta Zeta Sorority, gardening club, Christian Women’s Club, Norwalk Women’s Club, numerous quilting groups, Red Hats, and P.E.O., where she was a charter member of Chapters OR and PI.
Dotty is survived and deeply loved by husband Doc; children, Rebecca (Mark) Westberg, Beth (Craig) Rowles, Peggy (Ron) Johnston, Jeff Raun, Kate Raun, and Terry (Kate) Raun; 15 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; sister, Virginia (Ray) Wehde; and brothers, Al (Fran) Dillan and Bill (Kay) Dillan.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, February 16, preceded by a visitation with the family from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. at the Norwalk Christian Church in Norwalk.
