Cynthia L. "Cindi" Luft, age 66, passed away on Saturday, June 2, 2018, at her home in Winneconne, Wisconsin.
She was born September 3, 1951, in Appleton, Wisc., to Karl and Dorothy Peapenburg. Cindi is survived by her husband, Dr. Rick Luft of Winneconne, Wisc., and Sun City West, Arizona; children, Stacy (Charles) Muinde, Larsen, Wisc.; Brent (Sarah) Luft, Germantown, Wisc.; six grandchildren, Ryan, Wyatt, Addison, Kayla, Olivia and Harrison; and father-in-law, Richard Luft of Neenah, Wisc.
She was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents; mother-in-law, Norma Luft; brother-in-law, Mark Luft; and sister-in-law, Kristine (Luft) Gass.
Cindi was raised by her cherished grandparents, Benjamin and Agnus Hart, for a large share of her life, and had many fond memories about living on Lake Winnebago. Cindi was a 1970 graduate of Neenah High School and married Rick, the love of her life, on December 22, 1973.
She trained as a radiology technician and worked in that field before splitting her time as the business manager for her husband's dental practice, and for their business's Oak Grove Farm and Oak Grove Storage. Her understated role in these enterprises led to a long history of growing and developing championship Saddlebred horses, and in later years, a very successful storage business. Of all her accomplishments, her most remarkable were her roles as a mother to her beloved children and as a devoted partner to her husband Rick.
Cindi was excited to escape the cold Wisconsin winters her last few years and join their many friends in Arizona. She was particularly excited about their new vacation home and arranging it to exactly fit her dreams. Spending time with her children and grandchildren was her greatest joy. Golfing, boating and swimming were the mainstays of her relaxation during her retirement years, but just hanging out and having fun with her many friends was what she cherished most.
The funeral service will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, June 8, 2018, in the Chapel at Shrine of Heaven Mausoleum, 1451 Green Valley Dr. in Neenah, with Rev. Mark Gass officiating. The visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until the hour of service. In lieu of flowers, a memorial is being established in Cindi’s name.
