Happy Holidays
By Allison Lambert
The holiday season can evoke many feelings,
Because to each person it has different meanings.
To some it means family and time spent together.
To some it means snow and freezing cold weather.
To some it means Santa is coming to town.
To some, it means cookies and five added pounds.
To some it means searching for the perfect gift.
To some it means getting the gift that you wished.
To some it’s rejoicing the birth of God’s Son.
To some it means eggnog and parties and fun.
To some it means shopping and oodles of sales.
To some it means carols and old Christmas tales.
To some it means Hanukkah; they light the menorah.
Feliz Navidad, if you are a señora.
To some it means singing to spread Christmas cheer.
Or wishing your in-laws would just disappear.
To some it means placing the star on the tree.
Or a photo while crying aboard Santa’s knee.
Regardless the meaning or how it’s defined
‘Tis the season for laughter and having good times.
Enjoy every moment with all of your might,
Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good night.
