The California Equine Foundation and the Northern California American Saddlebred Horse Association have announced that James Hale of James Hale Stables, Columbiana, Alabama will judge the new California Springfest Horse Show, April 27-30, 2017. The show will be held at the Rolling Hills Equestrian Center in Corning, California, adjacent to the Rolling Hills Casino Resort, which offers two hotels, restaurants, a golf course, hunting and trap shooting, and fly fishing, as well as gaming for the adults and an arcade for the kids. A truck stop also is located on property.

The California Springfest offers a full slate of classes for American Saddlebred horses, Morgan horses and open all-breed classes, with a limited number of roadster and Hackney pleasure driving classes and saddle seat Equitation. Hale will serve as judge for all divisions. Several social activities will be held, including a barbecue dinner, hosted by Phil Boyce and the Rick Bender Family of Saratoga, California, and a fun Welcome chili dinner hosted by the clients at Monarch Stables of Cotati, California.
Gen Hess of Vacaville, California and Susan Valley of Alamo, California will act as co-chairmen and have selected a great staff to run the show, headed by Kevin Michael of Fresno, California as manager, and Lori Nelson of Paris, Kentucky as show secretary. “I am excited to be helping out with this new show at a fun new venue and looking forward to support from our region,” Hess said.
