Robertson Equine Sales LLC has been selected to manage the complete dispersal of Dr. Alan Raun’s legendary Reedannland breeding and training operations. Featuring 50-plus American Saddlebred horses of exceptionally choice breeding, all tack, and all equipment and trailers, the consignments are placed by The Estate or Trust of Dr. Alan R. Raun.
The auction will be held on Saturday, March 7, at 10 a.m., at Reedannland, 300 W. Beardsley, Norwalk, IA 50211. Hotels and travel tips will be listed at RobertsonEquineSales.com. Phone bids will be welcomed after RES has received the completed Phone Bid Form.
The first “on the road” auction for RES, many features will be the same that RES clients have come to expect. Walt Robertson, Jimmy Price, and Tom Biederman, renowned equine auctioneers, will be calling for bids. After the horses are auctioned, the tack and equipment will be offered in the same sales ring. A printed catalog will be available, and all consignments, terms, and forms will be listed soon at RobertsonEquineSales.com.
“This sale, per our dad’s instruction to us,” said Dr. Raun’s daughter, Kate Raun, “is a celebration of the Reedannland era. Dad and Mom wanted to share it with others and they wanted Jimmy to handle this auction. As sad as we are to lose them, we are happy to fulfill their desire to spread their love of Saddlebreds with others. When you shop with us, you’re perpetuating the Reedannland legacy. We thank you for that and look forward to seeing you here at the farm on March 7.”
“We are honored to handle this sale for the family of our dear friend Doc Raun,” said Jimmy Robertson, RES president. “Doc and Dotty Raun made immeasurable contributions to our industry and their community. Their stock and tack are of the finest quality. It’s a rare opportunity to acquire consignments from one of the country’s best Saddlebred operations, and we encourage all interested to be there or contact us to bid by phone.”
