January 2017 marks the second year in which a 3-year-old (foaled in 2014), not previously nominated in its foaling year, can be nominated to the American Saddlebred Registry (ASR) National 3-Year-Old Futurity on or before January 31, 2017.
In February 2013, the Registry Board of Directors approved a recommendation submitted by the Kentucky and National Futurities Committee, which would allow any registered 3-year-old not originally nominated to the National 3-Year-Old Futurity in the foaling year, to be nominated for a one-time payment of $5,000. This payment must be received or postmarked on or before January 31 of the horse’s 3-year-old year, (there will be no grace period). If the sire and/or dam were not nominated, an additional fee of $100 for the sire nomination and $25 for the dam nomination must also be paid by the above-mentioned deadline. A “buy-in” nomination form is available to download on the Prize Programs Futurity page.
Don’t miss out on an opportunity to win big in the ASR National 3-Year-Old Futurity classes at the World’s Championship Horse Show. In 2016, approximately $105,063 was paid to owners and nominators.
