The American Saddlebred Horse Association and American Saddlebred Registry announced the start of a “Going Green” campaign. The campaign was developed to manage costs in a tough economy and support worldwide environmental efforts while continuing to provide the best member services and benefits.
The first major step in this effort is to expand information and services available to members online, reducing paper usage, postage and staff processing time. Online services now available to members include horse registrations, stallion service reports and DNA kit ordering. ASR Online Horse Registration Tutorial Video
To further the campaign and involve all members, individuals will no longer receive hard copy membership cards. Starting June 1, membership cards along with member benefits will be emailed directly to individuals at the time of renewal. Members still will have the option to access membership cards online or receive a hard copy by request. ASHA/ASR will be releasing more details in next week's ASHA eNews.
“Not only are we Going Green, but we are prioritizing convenience for members by offering new online services and instant access to membership cards,” says David Mount, executive director of ASHA.
