On Wednesday, August 24 the American Saddlebred Museum held a successful fundraising event during the World’s Championship Horse Show.
The highlight of the evening was a line dancing competition. Five teams competed for two
prestigious trophies. Teams included the Lenux Legends from Lenux Stables, The Shiflet
Shufflers from Matt Shiflet Stables, Big Money and The Loose Change from High Caliber Stables,
The Carolina Sugerfoot-ers from Shiflet Stables, and the Dream Team, organized by Rose Marie
Wheeler. In the end, The Dream Team took home both awards, crowd favorite and the most
funds raised.
Executive Director Jennifer Foster said “We were so pleased to have the support from so many
people from across the country. The line dance teams were amazing and really worked to raise
funds for the Museum. We can’t thank everyone enough." After the dance competition and successful live auction, the crowd danced the night away with
DJ Cliffy D and the Balance Line Dancers.
This fundraiser supports the educational mission of the American Saddlebred Museum to
preserve the traditions and promote the heritage of our beautiful athletic horses, through
active engagement of the general public and equine community by expanding interest and
appeal in our breed.
