ASHA/ASR VIRTUAL TOWN HALL REGISTRATION OPEN

Registration is now available for the Virtual Town Hall with the American Saddlebred Horse Association and American Saddlebred Registry to be held via Zoom on Wednesday, January 27 at 5 p.m. ET. You can register for the Town Hall HERE. The purpose of the Town Hall is to present details and answer questions for members prior to the ASHA membership vote on the merger between the Registry and ASHA. UPHA FOUNDATION HAS DONATED MORE THAN $700,000 TO CHARITY

The United Professional Horsemen's Association Ribbons of Service program is an example of how young people can use their passion for horses to help the children of St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and learn to give back to their communities. To date, UPHA youth members have raised more than $550,000 for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and almost $150,000 to other nonprofit charities.  COVID-19 restricted Ribbons of Services participants' traditional fundraising and community service efforts. However, they rose to the occasion and created new ways to raise funds and perform their community service hours. 2020 proved just as successful as participants volunteered 1,988.5 hours in community serv

ASB MUSEUM'S TICKET TO RIDE RAFFLE SALES CONTINUE

Ticket sales continue for the American Saddlebred Museum’s “Ticket to Ride” raffle. The raffle winner will receive the opportunity to special order a 2021 Ford Bronco Badlands with standard powertrain and standard equipment or $30,000 cash. Tickets are $50 each and are available at raffle.asbmuseum.org or call (859) 259-2746. Only 2,500 tickets are available. This is a great opportunity, as well as a great way to support the American Saddlebred Museum. The grand prize drawing will be held on March 15, 2021, at 1 p.m. at the American Saddlebred Museum. MORGAN WEANLING GALA RETIRES

As show season approaches and plans are being made, Morgan Weanling Gala committee members have announced that the Morgan Weanling Gala will not continue into the future. It was a difficult decision following a successful 12-year run, but felt it was time. The Gala began in 2009 as a one-of-a-kind event that focused on Morgan weanlings, their sires and their breeders. More than $350,000 was paid out over the last 12 Gala events, along with many other awards donated by Maretta Kennedy, Appointments USA, Saddle Horse Report, The Morgan Horse, Howard Schatzberg Photography, Jon McCarthy Photography, The Jubilee Regional Morgan Horse Show, Prairie State Classic, Robert Morgan and many other generous sponsors. REMINDER: 2021 STALLION SWEEPS DRAWING TO BE HELD JAN. 23

The American Saddlebred Horse Association is entering its fifth year for the Stallion Sweeps. This collaboration between ASHA and the United Breeders Committee has raised more than $150,000 to promote the breeding of American Saddlebreds. The Stallion Sweeps offers the chance to get a breeding to some of the top American Saddlebred stallions in the world and raise money for breeding promotional programs. Funds raised will benefit the American Saddlebred Registry Futurity of Kentucky Yearling Open at the 2021 Kentucky State Fair World's Championship Horse Show. ASB MUSEUM RECEIVES GRANT FROM JUNIOR LEAGUE OF LEXINGTON

The American Saddlebred Museum has received a Community Education and Research Grant from the Junior League of Lexington. Grant funding will support the purchase of archival supplies to house the Museum’s historic collection of Horse Show Ribbons. This collection includes objects dating from 1903 to present day. Significant objects include ribbons awarded to great horses, including CH Wing Commander, CH Yorktown, CH Local Talent and many others.  Museum Executive Director, Jennifer Foster says: “Proper preservation of the collection is always a priority for the Museum. We are pleased that the Junior League of Lexington recognizes the importance of preservation, particularly for objects related

ASB MUSEUM ANNOUNCES RECIPIENT OF KEITH BARTZ IMPACT SCHOLARSHIP

The American Saddlebred Museum has announced Harrison Goode of Winston-Salem, North Carolina, is the recipient of the Keith Bartz Impact Scholarship Award. The scholarship committee chose Goode from an outstanding group of nominees. The scholarship celebrates the life of Keith Bartz who focused his time, talent and resources on building the American Saddlebred Museum and the celebration of the American Saddlebred Horse. The recipient is an individual who exemplifies the same character and enthusiasm for the breed. ASHA ANNOUNCES 2020 YOUTH SCHOLARSHIP RECIPIENTS

Each year the American Saddlebred Horse Association has recognized its junior members age 21 and under on the basis of academic success, financial need, involvement with the American Saddlebred and the ASHA youth programs, and extracurricular activities including community service. The purpose of the scholarships is to encourage, support and recognize participation in all aspects of the American Saddlebred industry, as well as to strengthen the American Saddlebred industry and breed through education. For 2020, ASHA is presenting two scholarships of $5,000 each helped made possible by the 2020 United States Equestrian Trust Grant awarded to ASHA.   ASHA has announced the following scholarship recipients this year:

AMHA ONLINE VOTING PORTAL NOW OPEN

The 2021 American Morgan Horse Association election portal is now open and ready to begin accepting electronic votes. Every AMHA member that is eligible to vote (and has a valid email address on file with AMHA) should have received an electronic ballot with the appropriate instructions for online voting sometime yesterday (January 6, 2021). Members are asked to check their junk email or spam folder if they don’t find their ballot in their inbox. ASHA ANNOUNCES VIRTUAL ANNUAL MEETING FOR 2021

The American Saddlebred Horse Association has announced that its annual meeting will be held virtually for 2021. The meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, February 17, 2021, at 5 p.m. ET. AHHS ANNOUNCES DATE OF 2021 MEMBERSHIP MEETING

ASHA ANNOUNCES 2021 JUDGES CLINIC

The American Saddlebred Horse Association has announced that the 2021 Judges Clinic will be held in Scottsdale, Arizona, during the Carousel Charity Horse Show, March 11-13. The event will focus on continuing education for license officials and applicants in the American Saddlebred, Roadster, Hackney and Saddle Seat Equitation divisions. This clinic will be a live clinic with in-the-ring judging for applicants.
