IOWA FUTURITY 2022 STALLION SERVICE ONLINE AUCTION SET FOR JAN. 30

The Iowa Limited Breeders' Auction will be offering its online stallion service auction on January 30, 2022. Stallions are coming in quickly and want to be on board for the 2022 Iowa Limited Breeders' Auction. Follow the progress and stay up to date at www.iowafuturity.com, and at the Facebook page: Iowa Futurity. ASHBA TO HONOR AWARD WINNERS AT 2022 UPHA NATIONAL CONFERENCE

The American Saddlebred Horse & Breeders Association has announced that it will recognize nearly 200 individuals for their accomplishments and contributions to the American Saddlebred at the 2022 United Professional Horsemen's Association National Conference in Orlando, Florida. ASHBA ANNOUNCES HALF-SADDLEBRED FUTURITY FOR 2022

The American Saddlebred Horse & Breeders Association has announced the establishment of the ASHBA Half American Saddlebred Futurity, which will begin with an Open Weanling Futurity for all 2022 Half-Saddlebred foals. Nominations are due April 30, 2022, with a single fee of $150 for the foal only. The sire or dam must be a full Saddlebred. Members register with the Half Saddlebred Registry and compete in the year 2022. The Half Saddlebred Open Weanling Futurity will be held at the All American Classic Horse Show at the Indiana State Fairgrounds in Indianapolis in September 2022. USEF BOARD OF DIRECTORS MEETING UPDATES

The USEF Board of Directors met on November 22, 2021, and approved the following Extraordinary Rule Changes that will go into effect today, December 1, 2021. Amateur Rule Changes Put Forward by the USEF Amateur Task Force GR1306.1
Allows amateurs to accept remuneration for performing specified barn duties, including lunging, without affecting their amateur status.

Increases the value of a non-monetary token or gift of appreciation an amateur can receive from less than $300 to less than $1,000 annually.

AMHECT ANNOUNCES 2022 HARRY SEBRING MEMORIAL GRANT RECIPIENT

The American Morgan Horse Educational Charitable Trust (AMHECT) has announced that the 2022 Harry Sebring Memorial Grant has been awarded to Madison Sanderson of Raleigh, N.C. Madison is pursuing a Masters degree in Animal Sciences at North Carolina State University in preparation for Veterinary school. AMHECT thanks the numerous people who donated to this and the other memorial grant funds. The next grant period will open on September 16, 2022, and close on November 1, 2022. Show management for the Kentucky Saddlebred Pleasure Horse Association has announced the dates for the KASPHA 2022 shows. The May Classic will be held May 12-14, and the Kentucky State Championship Show and Kentuckiana Regional Academy Championships are scheduled for September 16-17. VOTING OPEN FOR UPHA HORSE/PONY OF THE YEAR AWARDS

Voting for the United Professional Horsemen's Association Horse/Pony of the Year is now open to all current UPHA Professional members. To vote, click below or visit the UPHA website. The application period for the American Morgan Horse Association's 2022 Breed Promotion Grants opened on November 1, 2021. The deadline to submit an application is Friday, January 21, 2022, by 5 p.m. Eastern Time. The application may be found HERE. ASB MUSEUM REQUESTING PHOTOS FROM OCALA SHOW

The American Saddlebred Museum is collecting images and information to commemorate the first Ocala International Horse Show. Attendees can help by sending snapshots and memories to the Museum to be preserved in the collection. This crowd-sourcing project is a way for the Museum to expand collections and gather artifacts from today.    The museum is seeking snapshots, behind the scenes, as well as images of the show ring. ASHBA BILL WISE SWEEPSTAKES WERE A BIG WIN AT ALL AMERICAN

The 2021 American Saddlebred Horse & Breeders Association's Bill Wise Three-Year-Old Sweepstakes held at the All American Horse Classic boasted $20,000 in added money  distributed to every participant in the ASHBA Three-Year-Old Sweepstakes classes. This new incentive added by the host show came after program participants voted to keep AAHC as the host show for the Three-Year-Old division of the Sweepstakes. More than $89,000 in prize money was distributed over the four divisions of the 2021 ASHBA Bill Wise Three-Year-Old Sweepstakes. CALL TO ACTION: HELP THE BENNETT SCHOLARSHIP REACH ITS $100,000 GOAL

Established in honor of the memory of Scott Bennett, DVM, the Dr. Scott Bennett Scholarship will continue his life-long legacy of developing young practitioners in the art and science of equine veterinary medicine and surgery. The funds raised will provide financial support to an Ohio State University 4th year Doctor of Veterinary Medicine student who plans to pursue a career in equine medicine, with preference given to a student interested in pursuing a residency in equine surgery. Once the fund passes the $100,000 threshold, the collective gifts will guarantee annual scholarship distributions forever. The scholarship needs less than $40,000 to reach this goal.

USEF AMATEUR TASK FORCE RELEASES RULE CHANGE UPDATE AND SURVEY RESULTS

US Equestrian held a webinar on September 22 for the USEF Amateur Task Force to update US Equestrian members on recent progress since the initial webinar in early August. USEF Amateur Task Force representatives Lisa Blackstone and Caitlin Creel presented proposed changes to the USEF Amateur Rule based on the work of the task force this year and member feedback. The team also presented the results of the recent member survey in preparation for the proposed rules to enter the formal extraordinary rule change submissions process. JOINT LEADERSHIP COUNCIL OFFERS RELIEF FUND FOR RECENT HURRICANE ACTIVITY

The American Saddlebred Museum is seeking a part-time librarian. Qualified candidates will hold a Master’s Degree, or be pursuing a Master’s Degree from an ALA-accredited Library Science and/or Information program. 2022 AMHA REGIONAL SHOW APPLICATIONS DUE BY OCT. 26

The American Morgan Horse Association has announced that all shows desiring Regional Show status are required to submit an application for the 2022 show season. Please complete the application on pages 9-10 of the Regional Shows Handbook and submit it to the AMHA office by Tuesday, October 26, 2021. Each year, the AMHA selects up to four USEF Morgan Shows from each region to be its AMHA Regional Championship Show(s). It is at these shows that the best horses from all parts of the region and surrounding areas compete for regional titles as well as the opportunity to compete at the Grand National & World Championship Morgan Horse Show. 2021 ASHBA NAT'L PLEASURE EQUITATION FINALS RETURN TO ST. LOUIS CHARITY

The American Saddlebred Horse & Breeders Association (ASHBA) has announced the hosting of the ASHBA National Pleasure Equitation Finals at the St. Louis National Charity Horse Show. Phase One and Phase Two of the Finals will take place on Thursday, September 30.  ASHBA once again will be sponsoring a $1,000 scholarship to this year’s winner, $500 scholarship for reserve and gifts to all of the remaining ASHBA Finals competitors. Becker Brothers LLC has contributed a custom shirt for both the reserve and third-place finishers.  The ASHBA National Pleasure Equitation Finals are integral in growing the sport of Equitation and the use of the American Saddlebred Pleasure horse. USEF AMATEUR TASK FORCE SURVEY OPEN FOR FEEDBACK

The USEF Amateur Task Force is requesting feedback on several USEF Amateur Rule changes under consideration by the USEF Amateur Task Force. This survey can be taken by USEF members and non-members. USEF encourages all its community members to take this survey so USEF can hear the voice of amateurs within each breed and discipline. This will help them get to solutions that meet the needs of the equestrian community. This survey addresses the first phase of rule changes developed to address member feedback received by the task force and to achieve the goals of providing more access, flexibility and opportunity for amateurs and increased participation in the sport. 2021 BARTZ IMPACT SCHOLARSHIP NOMINATIONS NOW OPEN

The American Saddlebred Museum has announced that it is accepting nominations for the Keith Bartz Impact Scholarship Award. The award is $1,500 and is given to an individual dedicated to raising awareness of the American Saddlebred and improving the community.  Keith Bartz was an individual who focused his time, talent, and resources on building the American Saddlebred Museum and celebration of the American Saddlebred horse. This scholarship celebrates his life by awarding an individual that exemplifies the same character and achievements.
