Sales Representative

National Horseman Publishing is currently seeking an ambitious Sales Representative who will attend horse shows, generate ad sales, provide photo and/or editorial coverage of the event for the magazine, as well as manage and grow our current customer base.


This role requires a self-motivated, aspiring individual with a passion for horses and people, as well as a creative, outside-the-box thinker that can plan, organize and fulfill the advertising needs of the customers in their area. Our sales representative will work directly with the Publisher to fulfill sales quotas and the needs of our customers.


Established in 1865, National Horseman is a high-end coffee-table magazine that promotes the American Saddlebred, Morgan and Arabian show horse industries- publishing two titles and 25 issues per year.




  • Meet monthly sales quotas and implement ideas to exceed those goals
  • Cultivate potential customers to prospect for new business
  • Self-generate and contact potential advertising leads
  • Maintain current customer base
  • Take photographs and write editorial coverage for assigned horse shows
  • Maintain a neutral and positive business profile, including on all social media platforms



  • A equine enthusiast who is familiar with the Saddlebred &/or Morgan industries
  • A flexible schedule that allows time to travel to horse shows, and complete assignments
  • Excellent communication skills (Verbal & Written)
  • Proactive work ethic; strong people skills; positive attitude
  • Results driven, self-starter with strong organizational/prioritization skills
  • Proficient in Word and Excel
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Ability to multi-task while maintaining a close attention to detail
  • Strong people skills and an outgoing personality with the ability to build rapport
