Riders between the ages of 13-18 have the chance to win a saddle by creating a short video (less than 1 minute long) answering the question, “What would it mean to you to be on a Saddle Seat World Cup team?” Videos must be amateur-filmed, may not exceed one minute in length, must incorporate a horse in some way, and must be saved with the entrant’s full name in the title and uploaded to Dropbox. The video link must be submitted on the application page on usef.org. Video applications will be accepted until May 19.
A panel of judges will select 10 videos as finalists based on content, creativity, effectiveness and execution. The videos for these 10 finalists will move forward to Round Two where the public will cast votes for their favorite video via “Likes” on the videos from June 2-15. The finalist video with the most votes will be named the first-place winner, followed by second- and third-place. The grand prize is a saddle from Freedman’s Harness and Saddlery, while second-place will receive a Kensington canvas and leather collection roller and overnight bag, and third place will third-place will receive Freedman’s Harness and Saddlery belt, Saddle Seat World Cup jacket and polo. Winners will be recognized at the 2014 Saddle Seat World Cup in Asheville, North Carolina.
The contest is open to US residents 13-18 years old at the time of entry. Applicants must not have participated as a member of any Saddle Seat World Cup team. Saddle Seat Young Rider team members may enter but should keep in mind that the focus of this contest is World Cup, not what being part of the Young Rider team meant to them.
