A competitive group of riders entered the Coliseum at the Illinois State fairgrounds on Thursday, September 10, at the National Show Horse Finals in Springfield, Illinois, all vying for a 2020 United Professional Horsemen's Association National Show Horse Challenge Cup Finals Championship title. These riders competed in two groups, from which two national champions were crowned: Senior and Junior.
The Junior and Senior age groups performed rail work and a pattern in the Phase I preliminary stage. The Junior riders were up first on Thursday afternoon, followed by the Senior riders Thursday evening.
The finalists in the Junior and Senior divisions competed in their Phase II Friday evening, after which time the champions for the Senior and Juniors riders were announced.
Heather Rodgers from Springfield, Missouri, was named the UPHA National Show Horse Challenge Cup Finals Senior Champion. Rodgers rode CSP Rum Chata to top honors under the instruction of Shan Wilson of ChriShan Park.
The reserve champion in the senior division was Jordan Kern of East Aurora, New York, riding JSN Hot Line. Kern is instructed by Matthew Siemon.

Caroline Rodgers from Springfield, Mo., was named the UPHA National Show Horse Challenge Cup Finals Junior Champion. Rodgers rode CSP Island Crazy to top honors under the instruction of Shan Wilson of ChriShan Park.
The reserve champion in the junior division was Anna Schippert of Rogersville, Mo., riding JMJ Gold N Fizz. Schippert is instructed by Libby Ferguson of the Libby Ferguson Training Center.
