January 2018, marks the third year in which a 3-year-old (foaled in 2015), not previously nominated in its foaling year, can be nominated to the American Saddlebred Registry National 3-Year-Old Futurity. Nominations must be submitted by January 31, 2018. In February 2013, the Registry Board of Directors approved a recommendation submitted by the Kentucky and National Futurities Committee, which would allow any registered 3-year-old, not originally nominated to the National 3-Year-Old Futurity in the foaling year, to be nominated for a one-time payment of $5,000. This payment must be received or postmarked on or before January 31 of the horse’s 3-year-old year, (there will be no grace period). If the sire and/or dam were not nominated, an additional fee of $100 for the sire nomination and $25 for the dam nomination must also be paid by the above-mentioned deadline. Don’t miss out on an opportunity to win big in the ASR National 3-Year-Old Futurity classes at the World’s Championship Horse Show. In 2017, a total of $101,411 was paid out to owners and nominators. If you have any questions regarding the buy-in program, need a nomination form, or if a sire and dam have been nominated, please contact Patricia Edwards at 859.259.3899 or email p.edwards@asha.net. -- via American Saddlebred Horse Association |
