The Maine Morgan Horse Club is hosting its first Meet the Morgan event at the Pineland Equestrian Center in New Gloucester, Maine, on Saturday, March 31, 2018, from 1-3 p.m. This is an opportunity for a budding horse enthusiast or someone who wants to re-engage with horses to ride a Morgan horse or get a carriage ride for free at the esteemed Pineland Equestrian Center.
This event is geared toward children and adults who have not been up close and personal, or wish to be reacquainted with horses. Door prizes will be given to the first 50 attendees. Nationally recognized professional horsemen and women will guide the riders in a safe environment with horses that will capture their hearts. The event also will showcase World Champion Morgan horses in some of the divisions in which the Morgan horse competes. Participants will enjoy seeing a foal (baby horse) and mature Morgans, as well as the opportunity to ride or take a carriage ride with a Morgan.
The Meet the Morgan event is free to all participants. Free parking is available at Pineland Equestrian Center. Because horses will be directly involved, there will be restrictions on who can ride the horses due to physical or mental attributes of each person. The restrictions will be determined by the professionals who are handling the horses and the specific ability of the horses involved.
The Maine Morgan Horse Club is more than 70 years old and has more than 100 individual and family members. The MMHC encourages involvement of all Morgan disciplines and hosts many events thorough the year.
