Lexington, Kentucky — The City of Lexington, Mayor Linda Gorton, has issued an official proclamation recognizing the American Saddlebred Horse & Breeders Association (ASHBA) for its significant contributions to the equine community and its ongoing impact on the people of Lexington and the Commonwealth of Kentucky. The proclamation highlights ASHBA’s longstanding role in promoting the American Saddlebred, supporting equine education, and strengthening the cultural identity of the Horse Capital of the World.
During the ASHBA Annual Convention at the historic Campbell House, Mayor Gorton’s proclamation was read and formally presented to members of the ASHBA Board of Directors and the broader association membership. The presentation underscored the organization’s leadership and dedication to preserving and advancing the American Saddlebred breed, as well as its commitment to fostering growth within Kentucky’s equine, agricultural, and cultural sectors. ASHBA’s work continues to elevate the visibility of the breed, support industry professionals, and contribute to the economic vitality of the region.
In recognition of these contributions, the proclamation officially designates February 12–14, 2026 as American Saddlebred Horse & Breeders Association Days in the City of Lexington, encouraging residents and visitors alike to celebrate the legacy, excellence, and enduring spirit of the American Saddlebred.
