The Equine Welfare Committee (EWC) of the American Saddlebred Horse Association is looking for volunteers.
This is your chance to serve on an active committee at a national level. Our award-winning committee is tasked with not only assisting in seizure situations, but also with working cross functionally with other committees and the Board, advising on the welfare of the breed.
We are seeking a geographically diverse committee and are especially looking for volunteers from the Pacific Northwest, Midwest, and Mid-Atlantic areas (Carolinas). However, all applicants are welcome. You must be a current member, in good standing, of the ASHA. In general, committee members may expect to be tasked with projects and to meet via conference call on a monthly basis. We will be working this year on having an “in-person” working meeting as well.
To volunteer, please provide the following:
1 – your background, specifically as it relates to animal / breed welfare
2 – your location
3 – the reason you believe you would be a good choice
4 – your contact information including phone and email.
Please submit to Lisa Duncan at l.duncan@asha.net before end of day on March 31st. We will notify everyone of the status by April 15th. If you have further questions, please contact Kathie Dunn Jacobsen (chair) at 949-422-5911.
