Openings are still available for the 2017 Biggins Stable’s Adult Winter Riding Camp, to be held March 3-5 in Simpsonville, Kentucky. The annual riding camp is known for its quality instruction and fun atmosphere. The camp attracts adult saddle seat riders of all skill levels and from all parts of the country. Check in is on Friday, March 3 at 10 a.m., and camp will conclude on Sunday, March 5 at 1:30 p.m.
Intensive riding instruction is the central focus of Biggins Adult Camps. Coordinator Renee Biggins tailors the program to the ability and goals of each rider. Beginners through advanced riders will sharpen their horsemanship and showmanship skills on a wide variety of horses, including five-gaited Saddlebreds. All participants benefit from the accumulated knowledge and experience of Biggins, who has produced numerous World Champions and coached the World Cup to a gold medal in South Africa. In addition to the riding instruction and training techniques, campers have the opportunity to visit a local Kentucky barn. This always is a favorite experience among the campers. Last year, the campers visited Monnington Farm and Alliance Stud.
Campers also receive informational talks by a veterinarian and a farrier regarding horse health and shoeing. Biggins adult campers work hard, taking two lessons each day of the three-day camp. There also are evening activities where the campers can unwind. Campers will enjoy the company of their fellow horse enthusiasts at spirited dinners, where new skills and horse backgrounds will be shared at local restaurants two evenings during camp.
Campers have the run of the farm and the instructor’s undivided attention, as regular lessons and training schedules are suspended for the weekend.
It is both educational and a lot of fun! Space is limited and the camp fills quickly. Please call Renee Biggins at (502)722-5068 for more information or to request a registration form.
