** Following is an open letter from Charity Fair show management. **
Dear Valued Charity Fair Supporter, Exhibitor, Sponsor, Trainer, or Horse Enthusiast
It is with great sadness that the 2020 edition of our great Charity Fair Horse Show scheduled for 10-13 June has been canceled. The state of California is not allowing any horse shows to be held on state-owned property for the foreseeable future. It also appears, based on the Governor’s statements, that the prohibitions against large gatherings may remain with us throughout the summer. Regrettably, it would not be a sound financial decision to try to have our show later in this calendar year.
We love being able to put on a fun-filled and well-attended show each year! It was looking as if this was going to be a great show this year with entries coming from Washington, Texas, Colorado, Arizona and California. As with many events, the COVID-19 virus has foiled our exciting plans for a great show. We, instead, are going to put all our efforts into making our 2021 Charity Fair Horse Show even more exciting and wonderful!
The Charity Fair Horse Show’s main goal has always been to donate generous sums to our beneficiaries. Since we are not having our show this year, we as a show will not be able to donate to them. We are asking those of you who are financially able and willing to donate something to our charities, the Helen Woodward Therapeutic Riding and Pet Encounter Therapy programs, and the Don Diego Scholarship Fund, directly. To donate to the Helen Woodward Animal Center, please go to the Helen Woodward Animal Center’s website: www.animalcenter.org and click on Donations. If you could say that the Charity Fair Horse Show asked that you help them, it would be great! To donate to the Don Diego Scholarship Foundation, please go to their website: www.dondiegoscholarship.org and click on “Make A Secure Donation Online Now” and please mention that this is in honor of the Charity Fair Horse Show. These charities are both 501(c)(3) charities. Thank you so much for helping with Helen Woodward Animal Center’s Great Programs and/or the Don Diego Scholarship Foundation.
To raise money for our 2021 Charity Fair Horse Show, we are working on having a Summer Fun-filled day and evening Mini-show, Games, Potluck-type Supper and Dancing on Saturday, August 8, at Liz Bolton Stables in San Marcos. Everyone is invited to come and attend with their horses or use the school horses at the stable. We are hoping to have barn-donated Baskets to auction off, as well. It should be great fun and enjoyable for all! Please mark your Calendars, August 8, at Liz Bolton’s Stables! For more information, contact Anne Speck at 760-715-5426 (talk or text).
The whole Charity Fair Committee hopes to see you all soon at shows later this year. Thank you so much for your outstanding support in the past and now we are looking forward to you all joining us in making the 2021 Charity Fair Horse Show the best yet!
Stay Safe, Healthy and God Bless, Anne Speck and the Charity Fair Horse Show Committee
