The American Morgan Horse Association Youth has introduced its new "Teams" program. This program is designed to merge with the current Youth clubs to create more hands on fun with horses, while continuing to educate and familiarize youth with the Morgan Horse. It recognizes Morgan Youth on all levels of horsemanship.
The Program is based on accumulation of points throughout the year, by both individual team members and each team as a whole. Point earning tasks include all aspects of horsemanship, from grooming, care-taking and riding in lessons, to horse shows, as well as participating in Youth Contests, Youth Council, creating scrapbooks, holding charity/fundraising events and more.
There will be three different Team divisions to sign up for, based on the size of a team. The Team that earns the most points in each division at the end of the competition year will earn awards, and recognition throughout AMHA Media Outlets.
The Competition year begins on May 1, and the team must be registered within the first three months of the competition year to be included in the points accumulation. Points will be turned in quarterly to AMHA upon the preset deadlines.
AMHA Youth is excited about the future of this program and look forward to seeing where participation takes it. To sign up an AMHA Team, download the guideline booklet with application.
