The American Saddlebred Horse Association has announced that the American Saddlebred breed will be featured at Hats Off Day at the Kentucky Horse Park on Saturday, July 29. Hats Off Day, sponsored by Rood & Riddle, is the only day of the year that offers free admittance to the Kentucky Horse Park. Annually, the event welcomes more than 15,000 people and offers activities for all ages.
Beginning at 4 p.m., gates open for children and adults to experience fun and educational events. The ASHA will have a promotional booth available with an array of materials, highlighted by star petting horse, five-time World's Champion CH Billy Jewel. Here, attendees will be able to learn all about the breed, as well as get up close and personal with the American Saddlebred ambassador.
At 7 p.m., opening ceremonies will commence in the Rolex Stadium, immediately followed by the "Tribute to the American Saddlebred." During this presentation, the ASHA welcomes World's Grand Champion Marc Of Charm, True Fortune, and Reserve World's Champion Magic City. These three horses, that epitomize the American Saddlebred Show Horse, will be presented to a packed crowd in the Rolex Stadium.
"Everyone at the American Saddlebred Horse Association is delighted to participate in Hats Off-Kentucky day to be held at the Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington, Kentucky, on July 29, 2017. We very much appreciate the invitation from Dr. Tom Riddle to exhibit three of our finest American Saddlebred champions before an appreciative crowd in the Rolex Arena at seven o' clock in the evening prior to the Rood & Riddle $50,000 Grand Prix. Please come by our booth for free introdutory riding lesson coupons, hats, and brochures. You may also like to have your picture taken with CH Billy Jewel, who will be presented at our booth. Following our American Saddlebred exhibitions, there will be a T-shirt and hat toss in the Rolex Arena--the new venue for the Lexington Junior League Horse Show for 2018. We hope to see everyone at the Hats Off-Kentucky Day," said ASHA Executive Director Bill Whitley.
Lexington, Kentucky area residents should also be sure to tune into Lee Cruze's Sunrise segment on NBC's LEX 18 to view the Hats Off Day Promotion on Friday, July 28 from 6 a.m.-7 a.m., which will feature Dr. Tom Riddle and Stephanie Brannan and Alex Rudder from Nicholasville, Kentucky's Wingswept Farm.
The ASHA is grateful to the owners, trainers, and volunteers who are sure to make this an outstanding showcase for the American Saddlebred breed.
