Mark your calendar! The American Royal is once again honored to be hosting the UPHA National Championship Horse Show. The 2016 Show Schedule has added a day to the show and will begin on Monday, November 7 instead of its traditional Tuesday morning start. The first session will kick off at 11 a.m. Monday morning. The National Championship Show will come to a climax on Saturday night, November 12th as National Champions are crowned in 14 classes. The final class will be the Five Gaited National Championship.
Manager Kent Moeller announced that this year's judging panel includes Paul Boone, Gary Garone and Maria Gilman in the Saddlebred, Roadster, Hackney, American Royal Equitation and UPHA Exceptional Challenge Cup divisions. Marking the cards in the USEF Saddle Seat Medal Finals will be Michael Craghead, Gary Garone and Cindy Mugnier. In the UPHA Senior, Junior and Walk and Trot Challenge Cup Finals Devon Garone, Maria Gilman and Dwayne Knowles will officiate.
There has been some change and addition to the schedule. The UPHA Exceptional Challenge Cup National Finals will be held Tuesday night kicking off the week of UPHA National Championships. The UPHA Classic Grand Championships for Saddlebreds and Hackneys will remain in their Thursday night slot. The AHHS Youth Medallion National Finals will also be held this week in their respective divisions.
Additionally, we are proud to announce the long awaited addition of two classes: the American Saddlebred Hunter Country Pleasure class and American Saddlebred Hunter Country Pleasure National Championship.
